Intro to music video

Song:
Today in class we began planning for our second filming project, our music video. We chose the song "I gotta feeling." We choose this song because of it's upbeat vibes and how energetic the lyrics are. This will make choreographing the music video exponentially easier.
To begin our planning, we first analysed the lyrics of the song then associated a shot we had in mind with that given verse from the song. For example, we are going to zoom in on a paper calendar and have "Party" written on everyday of the calendar and synchronize that with the verse that says "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Friday Saturday, etc."
Conventions:
Our genre is pop. Conventions associated with pop music include bright lights, some shadows, and flashy colors. Many times, there is links between lyrics and scenes. So, that is why we brainstormed and linked the lyrics with our shots we are going to do.
1. In the pop genre, the costumes usually stick out. They, for the most part, keep in theme with the flashy colors and energetic vibes most pop music video themes maintain.
2. For the lighting of pop, there are either bright colors or dimmed rooms with heavy shadows. We will attempt to follow this pattern in our music video.
3. For a pop music video's camera angles, they can range from essentially any shot
4. For pop music video makeup, they usually use heavy intense colors to help stick out even more but, I don't think we will be using any makeup for our music video.
5. Props for pop music videos usually as the name will imply help the video pop out. We will be using multi- colored  balloons, bright colored paints and bright calendars.
6. The setting of a pop music video will usually take place where a party is happening. So, our music video will be taking place in a "Club" and at a person's house.
Editing: For our editing, we will probably speed up the videos shots, alter the length of the audio and make simple cuts to our shots.
