Canceling refilming

Due to the rise of covid- 19 we have been quarantined. This unfortunatly means we will not get a chance of refilming. We must stick with what we had. Luckily, our film was already complete and the changes we wanted to make were just personal preference. We will be in quarantine for the next month at the very least.

Reshooting for our film

Due to our limited amount of time film and edit, our final movie was sloppy. Because of this, we plan to reshoot some of the scenes we thought could have looked better. We may be doing this for the scene where I dispose of the gun. I want to reshoot because in my opinion, I don't think it makes much sense that my character is supposedly a cold hearted killer yet he's trying to get rid of the gun. It would make sense that he's willing to kill a cop if he's willing to kill a member of his gang. On the other, he may have only shot his friend out of anger and shooting somebody is not something he is comfortable with. This is why refilling this scene is certainly something I have to discuss with my group. Another scene I considered refilling was the opening. Originally, I wanted the movie to open with a tilt. If I didn't already discuss this hears the general Idea: The movie would open on a blank white screen with a metal it bushing being the audio, slowly the camera zooms out and tilt down. The camera was zoomed in on a street light. Under the street light are our two gangbangers. Instead, this idea was completely ditched and we went for a more simple opening. Although the idea may sound good, a reason for not doing this is because of focussing problems we had with the cameras we were using. This is certainly something that I would consider trying to film just to see how it looks. As for editing, there would be a minimal amount of editing for these scenes.

The final filming

Today we finished filming for our final project. We finished scenes and re-shot some scenes we didn't like. This meant finishing the scenes where I enter the park. At this point, we stopped focusing on the Sun being in any specific spot because, the Sun by now has fully set. Now the only thing we had to worry about was the lighting being bright enough to look good on camera. We made sure the lighting would remain good enough by shooting the majority of our scenes under some sort of street light. For the scene where our main character gets rid of his gun, we changed it from him throwing it off of a bridge to instead into a trash can. Although it probably would have looked better if he threw the gun off of a bridge, this would make it harder to retrieve to gun for a scene re-shoot and obviously, a trash can was more readily available.
